2023 Vermentino
Vineyard
This amazing vineyard sits in the northern most end of the Swan District, closer to the coast and to Lancelin that to the traditional Swan Valley area.
Over the past few years, with varying crop success, we decided to take on the management of this vineyard. Removing all synthetic sprays and reducing the flippant use of sulfur and copper saw our crop increase 500%, and the quality return. This chalky, limestone soil along with the hot days and cool nights from the sea breeze produces excellent Vermentino.
Winemaking
Handpicked fruit was crushed and destemmed then left on skins for 3 days and plunged daily. From there it was pressed off into stainless steel tank to finish ferment and left on lees for around 6 months, bottled unfined and with minimal sulphites
